artistic fidelity by ACOUSENCE arfi-adda191 reference

2 channel Analog to Digital and Digital to Analog Converter, 19"

Reference DAC and ADC with input for line and microphone levels. For the use as a microphone preamplifier, the input of the ADC is modified so that it is optimized for microphone signals. This results in a very minimalistic and short signal path, with a very transparent, pure and full sound.
The DAC has eight converters working in parallel instead of four as in the arfi-adda191.
Different configurations (ADC only, DAC only, DAC standard instead of reference) are possible.

artistic fidelity by ACOUSENCE ADC Details

* 24 Bit Resolution
* 44.1 to 196 kHz Sampling Rate
* Completely passive analog input stage
* Wordclock out

An extraordinary feature of the Acousence ADC is the fact that the input stage is built without any active amplifier stages or transistor circuits. There are only passive filtering elements, and a very high-quality input transformer, between the analog inputs and the AD converter. This unusual design has proven to be musically superior over additional amplification stages, and is certainly a contributing factor to the unusually precise and contoured image of transients, the tonal purity, and the full, round basic sound - as far as the analog signal is so provided, because the ADC does not make sound; it does its job, nothing more, nothing less.

With our DAC, you can hear our many years of experience in music production, and thus the sound concept of real instruments and ensembles. Comparisons to the best analog technology and vinyl records have always been important to us. So basically, the result is the Acousence ADC "in reverse". Here, we also see the precisely contoured image of transients, along with tonal purity and a full, round basic sound. Fine musical details, atmosphere and emotions have seldom been so audible, but the important thing is: listening to music is simply an unbelievable pleasure.

A special feature to be mentioned is the master clock input in the same format as the ADC masterclock output. This input can be switched to use this as a clocking source. Thus the internal PLL (clock recovery from the digital signal) is avoided and PLL no longer plays a role. The DA converter directly follows the master clock of the oscillator unit in the arfi-adc2pro.

Another central characteristic in the DAC is the total forgoing of any type of active amplification between converter chip and analog output; no transistor, no operation amplifier and no tubes. Instead, eight converter outputs, interconnected with each other in a highly sophisticated way via two high-quality transformers, are used to create an analog stereo signal. In our view, this is the key to music in terms of "artistic fidelity": natural sound, artistically compelling and emotionally moving music playback.
